Dahu Park

Jiou Chyu Bridge(2 picture)

The lake in the middle of Dahu Park is called the Egret Lake, due to the large number of egrets that can occasionally be found in and around the lake. The park is located at Section 5, Chenggong Road, Neihu District, next to Egret Hill, and surrounded by a number of other hills including Five-Finger Hill and Chungyung Hill. With an area of more than 10 hectares, Dahu Park is classified as a regional park.

There are 3 swimming pools, 1 visitor center and 1 management office in the park. Swimmers use the pools each year from May to September. A Chinese ancient-style pavilion erected in the center of the lake gives the park a classic Chinese atmosphere and provides an excellent place for viewing the lake. The park is also a popular site for activities. Besides morning exercises everyday, large scale activities are often held on the large lawn in front of the lake on weekends and holidays.

On holidays, visitors enjoy fishing, picnicking, driving model boats on the lake, rollerblading and kite flying. Beautiful views can be enjoyed from any of the several pavilions in the park. In summer and autumn, a hazy rain often falls in the afternoon, which creates more fascination to the lake and its surrounding hills.
